MALIK THE STYLIST BIO: THE NEW ERA OF A FASHION STYLIST

Malik Williams
The Stylist

Ft Lauderdale/ Miami native Malik Williams is known as “Malik The Stylist” for a reason. Although he began as a model at 16 years –old—walking in runway shows for national retailers such as Macy’s and being featured on popular television shows The O.C. and MTV’s Room Raiders—it was his stint at a popular high-end boutique in South Beach that launched his career in fashion. His charismatic spirit and stylish instincts made him a favorite among the store’s celebrity clientele and he soon became the personal shopper for many of them. After meeting superstar Dj khaled and styling his first music videos song "We Takin Over" and also styling Rapper Birdman "Baby" of Cash Money and Lil Wanye for the video as well, Malik soon found himself working in a whirlwind of editorial, photo and video shoots for a mix of music and sports stars including Thomas Jones,Dante Culpepper, Cash Money’s Baby, Julius Jones, Scott Storch, Bun B, Shaq and Shaunie Oneil and Family, DJ Khaled, Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson and the list Goes on.

Partnering with an NFL client Thomas Jones, he soon made the natural evolution from stylist to Creative Director designing the clothing line AMAZI—which called for him to work in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He then ventured back to his retail roots with plans to open his own boutique in Miami. The investor behind the venture unfortunately backed out before the scheduled opening, and while this may have been a setback at the time, with resilience and an undying ambition, he then set his sights on New York City. He quickly continued scoring feature shoots for magazines—including the popular men’s fashion and lifestyle magazine Bleu—and acquiring more celebrity clientele. And as a cast member on the upcoming reality show, On The Set, which features the behind the scenes machinations of the glam squads that make all things fly, soon the world will know why the industry constantly calls on “Malik The Stylist”.
